Did you know that 611,000 injuries occurred at work according to the Labour Force Survey, of which 152,000 led to over-7-days absence, with rates of 2,030 and 500 per 100,000 workers respectively (Health & Safety Statistics 2014-2015 )?Health and safety should not be a responsibility assigned to a particular individual or part of an organisation, but an integral part of everyone’s role.Managing of health and safety, employers and organisations are required by law to ensure that their health and safety arrangements are appropriate for their organisation and at the very least meet their legal responsibilities. The following sessions will offer practical advice and guidance to workplaces who need additional support with managing health and safety.

Outline

This session aims to provide delegates with an introduction to the benefits of actively managing safety and health issues in today’s business environment. The course is ideally suited to business managers and team leaders and anyone who has an interest in linking good safety and health standards into their current operation. This session is aimed at employers who have less than 250 employees.

Healthy Working Lives training courses/workshops are a local resource offering further support to workplaces to maintain, implement and develop good practice with a focus on health, safety and wellbeing in workplace.
